Jacqui and Ashley at Woodford Halse

Iconic's special 'Eve-of-Cropredy' concert has been moved from The Mill in Banbury to Woodford Halse Social Club. The gig takes place on Wednesday 8 August 2007.

The concert links into Fairport's 'Forty Glorious Years' celebration and features two of folkrock's greatest names. Fairport founder Ashley Hutching will play the first half with his current four-piece band Rainbow Chasers; after the interval, Jacqui McShee's Pentangle will take the stage.

Ashley started Fairport, Steeleye Span and the Albion Band. Now, with Rainbow Chasers, he is making exciting music with three very talented young musicians.

Like Fairport, Pentangle was in at the birth of British folkrock. The band has been through many line-up changes and continues to make great music four decades after its inception.

Fairport and Pentangle got valuable support in their early days from established figures in the music world. So to bring things full circle, the August 8 concert will also feature an opening set from Ella Edmondson, a new and talented young singer/songwriter (Ella will also be playing support slots at several of the gigs on the September tour by Jacqui McShee's Pentangle).

This concert presents full sets from two folkrock icons and is the perfect adjunct to Cropredy. Tickets cost just £20 and will be on sale at the venue.
